Gaby Oron writes character-driven science fiction. The Astra Echoes series follows six centuries of interstellar colonisation — from the discovery of the Astra Gate in 2024 to the faction wars of the 2600s — beginning with the novella The Quiet Divide.

Long — 200 words

Gaby Oron is the author of Astra Echoes, a science-fiction series set across roughly six hundred years of human expansion into the Known Universe. It begins in 2024 with the discovery of the Astra Gate, and runs through the colony ships, the deorum-ore economy, the rise of the Praetorium, and the faction wars that follow.

The series opens with The Quiet Divide, a novella set above the colony world of Sacramentum: on the night a refinery station tears itself apart, Dr. Cira Langley discovers what her hands can do, and by dawn three things have been born of the fire — a child, a fugitive, and a war. A second novella, Ashfall Rising, follows, and the trilogy proper begins fifteen years later with Echoes of Erigo.

The books are written for readers of character-led space opera — The Expanse, Silo — where the politics are believable, the consequences stick, and the people caught between factions are the point. Gaby writes from the UK.
